Charging Hub Packaging

Brand EFM
Year 2020
Role Packaging Designer

Objective

I contributed to the packaging design, including all renders for a charging hub intended for multiple iPhone and iPad devices. The project required balancing functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability to create a packaging solution that reflected the product's premium quality.

Design & Development

My involvement in the project spanned the development of graphic design elements, dielines, and production artwork. These visual components were essential in creating a cohesive brand experience, from when customers unboxed the product to when they interacted with the charging hub.

Before After

Focus on User Experience

A key aspect of my role was developing the paper pulp tray that securely held the devices during transit. This involved translating 3D CAD models into 2D linework to create a precise and protective layout. Additionally, I designed a graphical instruction manual that was intuitive and easy to follow, ensuring that users could quickly set up their charging hub without confusion.

Sustainability & Efficiency

In keeping with sustainable practices, the paper pulp tray was designed to be recyclable and biodegradable, aligning with the brand’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. A significant reduction in plastic use within the packaging was achieved, further reinforcing the brand’s dedication to eco-friendly solutions.

Outcome

The result was a thoughtfully designed packaging solution that enhanced the unboxing experience while protecting the product during transit. The combination of aesthetic design, functional tray development, and clear instructions helped to elevate the overall customer experience, making it both user-friendly and visually appealing.
